The full list, in detail.

Every one of these is set out before it is laid, and cleaned up after. Here is what each involves.

01

Bathroom & Shower Tiling

The work TJM Tiling does most. Walls and floors, shower recesses, niches, hobs and the edges around screens and vanities, all set out so the joints line through and the falls run where they should.

  • Full bathroom wall and floor tiling
  • Shower recesses, niches and hobs
  • Linear and centre drain falls
  • Cut in around vanities, screens and fittings

Floor Tiling

Living areas, kitchens, hallways and entries. Large-format porcelain, timber-look planks, mosaics and checkerboard patterns, laid level so there is no lip to catch a toe or a chair leg.

  • Large-format porcelain and stone-look tiles
  • Timber-look plank layouts
  • Patterned and checkerboard floors
  • Levelled and checked for lippage as it goes

Wall & Feature Tiling

Brick-bond subway, glazed colour, large-format and mosaic feature panels. The set-out is planned so the pattern reads properly across the wall instead of dying in a thin cut at one end.

  • Brick-bond and stack-bond wall tiling
  • Feature walls and mosaic panels
  • Recessed shelves and mitred external corners
  • Splashbacks and small wall areas

Outdoor, Veranda & Step Tiling

Front verandas, entries, steps and patios. Outside is where the falls and the edges matter most, so water runs away from the house and the nosing on a step is even underfoot.

  • Verandas, porches and entries
  • Steps and stair nosings
  • Patios and outdoor landings
  • Falls set so water runs away from the house

Floor Preparation & Levelling

The part nobody photographs. Old floor coverings and adhesive come up, the substrate is ground back and levelled, and only then do tiles go down. Skip it and every dip shows up in the finished floor.

  • Old tile, vinyl and adhesive removal
  • Substrate ground back and cleaned
  • Levelling before the tiles are set
  • Debris cleared away, not left on site

Repairs & Re-tiling

Cracked or drummy tiles lifted and replaced, tired areas re-tiled, and the odd job somebody else left unfinished. One customer wrote that Tim went above and beyond fixing a couple of issues they had created themselves.

  • Cracked, loose and drummy tiles replaced
  • Sections re-tiled to match
  • Finishing work another trade left behind
  • Small jobs are genuinely welcome

Do you supply the tiles?

Most customers pick and buy their own, which keeps you in control of the look and the cost. Send Tim the tile you are considering before you order and he will tell you how it will lay out in your room.

Can you remove the old floor first?

Yes. Lifting old tile, vinyl or adhesive and getting the substrate back to something worth tiling on is part of the job, and it is quoted with the rest so there is no surprise later.

Will the joints line up around the room?

That is what the set-out is for. The layout gets planned before any adhesive is mixed, so the joints run through and the narrow cut ends up somewhere you will not stare at every morning.

Do you do outdoor tiling?

Yes. Verandas, entries, steps and patios. One customer had their front veranda and steps tiled and wrote that Tim turned up on time and left the work place nice and clean.

Know which room, not sure on the price?
